Would you like to have Press/Media Covery our next event. Don't have a PR company right now? We have developed a site where you can contact the PRESS/MEDIA DIRECTLY.
With one click you can have Press/Media attend and cover your event. Here's how it works:
We have Press/Media that sign up to our INVITE THE PRESS LIST, that want to be contacted and we place their emails/website on a list. They give a brief description of their work through website, blog or photo. You decide which Press/Media to invite to cover your event. Remember, when you invite Press/Media, they are COMPLIMENTARY, and usually need a +1 as they may have an assistant.
We also can list your event on the FAN Daily Fashion Blog www.btetv.wordpress.com (Fashion Avenue News Daily Fashion Blog), which goes out to our Press/Media List each Thursday, letting them know what is going on for the weekend with a link, email or statement saying Press are invited COMPLIMENTARY to attend.
TIPS: When you invite Press/Media, kindly give them a front row seat if at all possible. These people are there to cover the event and cannot blogg, live stream, get good photos, etc., if they are standing or in the back row.
Let the Press/Media in FIRST, don't make them stand in line. If they are signed up and have their business cards, kindly allow them in so they can get a seat, set up and get interviews or fix their equipment, whatever they need to do to make covering your event easier for everyone.
Give them an "RUN OF SHOW" with information on who is in the show, who are the sponsors, etc., the more info they have the better and FASTER they can cover your event. If they don't have the correct info, they cannot do a complete write up.
Start your event as close to on time as possible. They are covering your event but may have other events to cover and want to arrive at those events on time. If you run late, they may have to leave without getting the best part of your event.
If you are serving food, have someone offer the Press/Media something to eat. Most of the time Press/Media are running from show to show, trying to get everything in and cannot stop to eat. If you can even offer a soda or a bottle of water, it is much appreciated.
Treat the Press/Media good because they are there to help you. They want to report on the event. They remember the events that treat them nice.
Understand that the Press/Media is NOT YOUR PERSONAL HOUSE PHOTOGRAPHER and are there to cover the event, not to shoot the photos/video and give them to you. If you want photos from your event, hire a HOUSE PHOTOGRAPHER, and you will have photos. Don't expect that the Press/Media you invite will give you video or photos from the show, they are there to COVER the show. Please keep this in mind when planning your event.
It's good to have a HOUSE PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHERS. Press/Media should be able to download photos/video somewhere to complete a write up on your show. Sometimes their photograher/videographer is not available.
Invite The Press list will also include available Make Up Artists, Hair Stylists, Volunteers, Interns, Front of the House, Back of the House, Dressers, Fashion Show Coordinators, Event Planners and more.
Lastly, (if you can) ACKNOWLEDGE they are in the audience. It is important that your audience know you have REAL Press/Media at the event. People can look for the write up or photos once the event is finish. If it's a fashion show, the designers, models and make up, etc., will be happy that the Press/Media is there.
